Let This Be Your Sign to Reinvent Yourself
I like a cute little rebrand. As someone who has multiple interests, and has to constantly juggle them, it’s very easy to go off course and eventually have to find a way to circle back. But rebranding has grown to become quite enjoyable for me. I call it my back-to-the-drawing-board era, not to say it’s not going to be one of the hardest things you’ll ever do.
The clarity that you’ll get from a good old rebrand is liberating. It may not exactly seem so at the moment, especially because it can be so discomforting to pivot and deviate from your current reality, but you’ll be better for it. In December 2023, I found myself in a very unhappy place. I really wanted to change that, and I decided to let go and start 2024 on a pretty much blank canvas. It took me four months of uncertainty to get eventual redirection, and even though I’m not all the way there yet, I’m very glad I took that step.
Life is such an interesting phenomenon. People can only try to the best of their knowledge to opine and advise, but the truth is you’re the only one capable of making such a profound impact on the trajectory of your life. When you’re ready, I hope you find the courage to step back and reinvent yourself as many times as required. Time is a common constraint when it comes to making such decisions, but it’s never too late to rediscover yourself, find a new path, and pursue new dreams and ambitions. I know I sound pretty preachy and motivational right now, but acknowledging this has really been a life-changing eye-opener for me.
So, whatever it is, wake up extra early to bet on yourself and plunge into the wild!

Currently, I am:
Feeling: Very excited about my final days of university. It’s been a long, long journey and I can’t wait to wrap up this era ASAP!
Thinking: About how to plan my quickest escape out of this country, mehn. I need to breathe new air.
Listening: To the girlies, especially their new music. Tems and Ayra Starr have new albums out and when I say, good music is back!
Watching: Bel Air casually. These days I’m just too busy to commit to actually finishing anything.
Reading: Nothing of note. A couple of essays here and there.
Rooting for you with all my heart,
Jacqueline.
